Once you know what it was you need to admit to it and when the time comes, when the communication lines are reopened, apologize sincerely for whatever it was you did wrong. Even if you are not entirely to blame for the break up it is best if you just bury your pride and take the blame, if you don’t, you could find yourself back at square one.

Once your ex is willing to begin to talk again, take it slow, don’t try to iron things out all at once, at this point you are trying to build a new relationship. (The one you had is gone, it disappeared when the break up occurred and cannot be reestablished.) Be friends first and slowly start to build a new relationship, it could take time but, it can be done just remember the old saying patience is a virtue.
