How To Save A Failing Marriage – The Process You Should Follow To Save Your Relationship

Sometimes it is hard to know how to save a failing marriage. You may have a battle going on where both of you want to be right. Marriage is not about who is right or wrong. It is about making each other feel respected and needed in the world. That is where we all started when we were dating, yet so many married couples end up off track along the way.

Face it, this is not about who is right or wrong. It is about loving each other enough that you can admit what you are doing wrong and figure out a way to improve your relationship together. If you want to save your marriage, there may be a lot of work and emotional baggage that you have to sort through to make things happen.

Men and women are different, and they are supposed to be. The way that we deal with things and approach problems is quite different too. However, there are some generic steps you can follow when you are trying to figure out how to save a failing marriage.

1. Admit there are issues in your relationship. Nothing is more aggravating than for one spouse to sugarcoat everything going wrong and pretend you are happy Sally and Stan HappyCouple. If there are issues, admit them. Voice your concerns and impress upon your spouse that these issues have to be dealt with now. Your marriage is important, so you have to find some common ground.

2. Ask questions: Ask your spouse what they see in YOU that needs to be improved. What idiosyncrasies do you have that may be causing conflict in your relationship? Be willing to listen and HEAR what your spouse is saying. Do not argue the point, just listen and take it all in. Be willing to adjust your behavior for the betterment of the relationship. Do not take offense to their answers because you must remember that they are giving their feelings from their own perspective. There is no right or wrong here. They are speaking their own truth.

3. Be willing to get outside assistance: This is a biggie. Many spouses will avoid getting outside help. Remember that outside help does not have to be in a shrink’s office lying on a couch! There are all sorts of resources online that can help you get your marriage back on track and save you from a messy, sad divorce. You have to be willing to either talk to each other honestly or talk to someone else who can truly listen and help you work through the emotions.

Learning how to save a failing marriage is no easy task. There is so much involved in love and marriage that no one understands like you and your partner. There is a 6 part free course at this website that will help you save your marriage.
