Once you have determined the true reasons for the break up, you have to be honest with yourself again and really think about how much about yourself and your behaviors you are able and willing to change in order to make the relationship work. For instance, if one of the problems in the relationship was that you were too jealous and didn’t like it when he went out with his buddies on the weekend, are you sure that you are really, truly able to trust him now?

You have to keep in mind that when you are setting out to get your ex boyfriend back, the goal isn’t really to fix the old relationship as it is to start a new, fresh one. That’s right; just start fresh! Leave the mistakes of the past in the past and move forward. Do not hold grudges; do not bring up past mistakes.

When you have assessed your part in the break up, go to him and without judgment or accusation, talk to him about your feelings and your hopes for the future.
