When a break up occurs, this usually means several things: some serious mistakes have been made, or, if that’s not the case, the break up has to do with a loss of attraction. What this means is that your partner is not that into you anymore. Each of this problems has a solution and there are more ways to get your ex back. But, no matter what happened, if you can get your relationship needs met, you will have a better chance to get back at your ex. Here are a few ways to get your relationship back on track:

1. Be strong. Nobody wants to be around a needy person. Desperation and neediness are like energy vampires, sucking the energy from yourself and everybody around you. Even if some people will try to stay with you and deal with your problems, it’s no fun for them. This only confirms to your ex that they made the right decision leaving you. Try acting cheerful and happy. Set your goal to be the most enthusiastic person in the room… in any room. Don’t act like it’s the end of the world (really, it’s not… Not to mention that, if you follow my plan, I guarantee that you will soon be back together with your ex. So, no need to feel blue!).

2. Analyze your relationship. Figure out what went wrong. Ask yourself if is it really worth to get back together with your ex. Try hard to see your relationship from an objective perspective, because, especially right now, you will tend to see only the good part of your past relationship. Think about the bad things too. Sometimes, people only realize how bad their relationship really was after they move on with another person or, a lot worse, after they are back into the toxic relationship.

3. Stop doing the obvious mistakes. If you’ve made some obvious mistakes (like cheating for instance) and that’s the reason why your ex decided to break up with you, stop doing it! Just imagine how bad would you feel to have your partner do the same to you… If you follow my plan, you will learn how to make an effective apology that, not only will do the trick to make your ex forgive you fully, but will also help greatly to get them back to you.

4. Cut off all communications. This is the biggie. If you want to have a chance at getting back with your ex, you need to let the dust settle. Give your ex the time to miss you. This will dramatically increase the effectiveness of your apology and will allow you look fresh and new to your ex at the big meet-up. Make sure you minimize communication for at least three to four weeks. If you live together, this step can still be put into practice by going out a lot, minimizing interactions etc. (but, under no circumstances ignore your ex! Be nice and cool every time you interact with them).

5. Be Flexible. Don’t be forceful with your ex, for instance, don’t demand them to move out by a certain date or pick their things up. Even if it will be a lot harder to recover staying in contact with them, be a listener. Of course, flexible doesn’t mean acting too nice… Don’t start flirting with them. This will only help your ex recover faster.

6. Get your life back. It’s time to catch up with your friends. I’m sure you’ve neglected them lately. Go out a lot. Visit new places, take a lot of pictures and have fun. Start working out. When you work out, endorphins are released in your body and you will feel a lot better, not to mention your looks and self confidence, which will skyrocket.

7. Improve yourself. Many times, as a relationship progresses, people tend to lose their attractive traits, replacing them with unattractive ones. Knowing exactly how everything works will help you avoid making typical mistakes and will give you another boost in your confidence (and nothing is more attractive than confidence!).
