Well bust-ups are a regular occurrence and what is equally common is blokes making the same mistakes when attempting to win their ex girlfriend back. I’m going to tell you the four huge blunders men typically make.

1. Acting needy
In an attempt to win the girl back, guys will often send cards, handwritten love notes, chocolates or maybe even rock up outside the ex girl’s apartment with guitar in hand whilst simultaneously singing to be taken back. Guys who have been dumped by their girlfriends will often try to stay in constant touch with her by phoning her, emailing her, texting (‘text message terrorism’), instant messaging or maybe just some good old Facebook/MySpace-stalking. Guys may also try to stay in touch by turning up at the same places whether that be a pub, club or grocery store. This is generally going to 1. creep out your ex, 2. portray yourself in her eyes as some sort of annoying mosquitoe who she wishes would just buzz off and 3. displays that you obviously haven’t got much else going on in your social life which in itself isn’t a good quality. Sometimes bumping into your ex is inevitable particularly if mutual friends are involved. If this happens be cool, be polite and spend most of your time speaking to your other mates.

4. Repeatedly declaring “I love you”
Some guys believe that saying these three words will remedy all the problems. No! These words are meaningless if not backed up by the correct actions and cannot reignite attraction on their own. She is more likely to see you as a pathetic shell of a man and may well show you pity but will not show you love.

Divorce or breakup is bad enough as it is. It’s really hard and nerve-racking position for anyone to accept or go through. So what happens if you recognized you’ve made an error? The first matter you must take care of is to determine if getting back with your ex is the right thing to do. After that you all must be willing to communicate and cooperation is expected on both parts. Rebuilding a relationship with just one person will not work at all. Remember to compromise means that two adults must come to an agreement? Don’t waste each other’s time arguing about every little thing.

If you made it this far then you need to keep things going being consistent with your agreement. Keep in mind again you are not going through all this work and no one is keeping their end of the bargain. It’s as though one of the people involved doesn’t care about how things are going to go. If finances is the problem find out who is the strongest and have them take care if the finances. No matter what happens, try your best not to go further in debt. Debt is one sure way to ruin a relationship and keep one another apart. Sometimes you all may need some personal time to yourselves if that was an issue you all where dealing with. Perhaps the two of you just need to spend additional time together. Or perhaps you just need to take a vacation. But the most important thing is to stick with the plan.

A split up can be bad on an individual or both parties involved, but getting back with your ex back doesn’t need to be so tough. She isn’t looking for solutions. I repeat; she doesn’t want solutions. Unless she specifically asks you for a suggestion on how to fix the situation, just be quiet and listen or else you’re going to make her even angrier. After a horrible occurrence, a girl wants the guy to listen and say how sorry he is that happened to her or that the person was out of line. Whatever it is, play along because the girl wants you to listen, act surprised, and then you can talk about it. It might help to poke fun at the other person.

It may also be helpful if you volunteer to give a back rub, embrace, or massage their shoulders. These are comforting to the girl, and it allows them to calm down. Despite what you may think, girls have a lot of common sense and don’t need a guy to tell them why they failed on a test. They have already determined whether they need to study more, didn’t comprehend the concept, were graded unjustly, forgot a part of the theory, made stupid mistakes, or whatever it is. In the end, she knows the setback and she knows how to fix it.

Just today I was in a conversation with a guy and I was telling him about a problem. He didn’t even listen to the full story before he started offering suggestions. The point is that I wanted him to be irritated just like I was. I had already taken care of the circumstance, but I just wanted him to listen and sympathize.

It was then that I flat out said “I don’t want solutions I just wanted you to empathize.” This opened the ways of communication in the workplace because now he understands what I require from the conversation when I tell him something and I know that when he talks to me he wants solutions.

Sometimes, it is easiest to just say what you want out of the conversation and you can actually cover what both parties in the conversation need. Because guys and girls think differently; maybe this will open up communication and everyone can get what they need out of the conversation.

This is also part of the reason that having a girlfriend is so imperative. They are very supportive and can give the kind of sympathy and backing that many guys just can’t seem to give. There is a difference in what the expectations are from the conversation and when you understand what each others needs in the conversation are, a lot can be accomplished and things run much better.
